Your Story is Different for a Reason

As humans, we often compare ourselves to others. Many of those times we are comparing for the wrong reasons. Giving yourself a template of steps you want to take or a goal you’re working towards is one thing. But we are all blessed with different people, places and settings that mold us into who we are today. Think of a random event that happened in your past. Something crazy that you didn’t know if you would make it through. Now…… look at yourself today. Stronger than ever; fearless. When you correlate yourself to another person you are already in error. That next person has not seen all the things you have, have not felt the pain or joy you did, or grow up tolerating the things that formed your outlook on life today. The match-up is simply like night and day. If you haven’t already, I would like for you to vocally declare that you will live YOUR life as YOUR own and in YOUR own way.

But how are we to do this? Nowadays with social media we are always looking for the next. Our phones are out and we are, for a slight moment, no longer living in the present. This year has taught me the importance of staying present. Far too many times are we distracted by what we don’t have we hardly appreciate all that we do have. I always tell my friends and family that I can never see anything or perceive something as they can. Its literally impossible. Science will back me here and tell you that no one person can think identically. What I am trying to say here is that you might as well be yourself perfectly than trying to be perfectly like someone else! Read it again if I lost you (lol). Let’s all be blessed to walk this earth at this time. Once we acknowledge and accept that our stories are different we are proclaiming ourselves as special. I once read a quote that said, “we all have something that this world needs” and that stuck with me until this day. Think about it, if you’re trying to be like someone else you are denying the world the reason for your existence.

I challenge you to reclaim your joy if you lost it, find it if you’ve never had it, and if you’re currently joyous than stay that way forever! Life is hard and it’s easy to envy someone else. God has made us perfectly diverse. Be yourself in the best way! Thank you so much for reading my blog. Stay tuned for more chit chat and empowering posts. I would love to get some feedback. Don’t be shy to write me!
